Stephen Wagner

Stephen Wagner was born and raised in Reno, Nevada to a Korean mother and a German-Native American father. He was not exposed to different cultures outside of his own family and has faced his fair share of racism as a child. After completing college with a degree in marketing, Stephen sought the opportunity to teach English in China to satisfy his urge to see Asia instead of going straight into the corporate world. He arrived in Shenyang, China to unfamiliarity and language barriers but quickly adjusted driven by his curiosity for a new culture. With Chinese and Korean holidays aligning with one another, he decided to travel to Korea to celebrate Chuseok with his family. Hearing Korean every day and seeing his family brought comfort to Stephen that he took a chance to move to Korea, which has now become his home for over two years.

Being Asia for the past six years has opened up Stephen's eyes to better understand what he likes, what he’s good at and what he wants to do in the future. As he furthers his life in Korea, Stephen hopes to continue to discover more passions and take more risks for himself.
